The iconic Japanese tokusatsu hero franchise, Ultraman, continues to boast immense popularity across its many series. With new installments still rolling out, the franchise is also celebrating its 60th anniversary this year with a slate of exciting events.
Tsuburaya Productions has just announced that its brand-new, directly-managed experiential cultural concept store, "ULTRA MART TOKYO," will officially open in Harajuku, Tokyo on July 10, 2026. Beyond the grand opening events and exclusive merchandise, the store's most eye-catching feature will be a massive 3-meter-tall Ultraman Tiga statue, poised to become a new pilgrimage site for fans.

"ULTRA MART TOKYO" is designed to be more than just a merchandise shop. The official vision is for it to become a new Harajuku landmark where people can meet up, wait for friends, snap photos, and share their experiences. At the heart of this concept is Ultraman, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
Located in Harajuku, a district that constantly births new pop culture trends, ULTRA MART will collaborate with creators, fashion labels, artists, and tech innovators to challenge new forms of expression. While the store is a permanent fixture, its internal themes and projects will rotate regularly, aiming to create a "cultural hub" where you never know what surprise will pop up next, ensuring every visit offers a fresh discovery.

First Theme: "ULTRA CUTE" — An Adorable Exclusive Collab Between mofusand & Ultraman
Although ULTRA MART is a permanent store, its themes will be updated periodically. For its commemorative first wave, the store is teaming up with popular illustrator Jyuuno's beloved character, "mofusand."
Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Ultraman Tiga's broadcast, the collaboration will feature a store-exclusive plush keychain of a cat dressed in a Tiga costume. The heroic world of Ultraman collides with the cute and quirky charm of mofusand's cats to create a brand-new "Ultra Cute" style. In addition to a variety of exclusive products, the store will feature a charmingly curated and heartwarming display space.

Store Design Concept: "Where the Future Meets Harajuku"
The entire store utilizes extensive mirror designs, where light, video, music, and the visitors themselves reflect and intersect, creating a sense of infinitely expanding space.
The design merges the futuristic and cosmic imagery of Ultraman with the cutting-edge pop culture of Harajuku. This unified concept is reflected in everything from the interior layout to the product displays. Upon entering, visitors' reflections, along with the lights and visuals, will bounce off each other, constantly transforming the space and creating an immersive world that can only be experienced at ULTRA MART.

The staff are also part of the ULTRA MART worldview. Their uniforms are designed by Masanori Morikawa, the renowned fashion designer behind the brand BASICKS. The design draws inspiration from the defense force uniforms seen throughout the Ultraman series, blending futuristic, cosmic elements with Harajuku fashion.

Facing the streets of Harajuku is the Ultra Window, a large-scale display. It will feature rotating themes and video installations, broadcasting the ULTRA MART worldview not just to customers inside, but to the entire Harajuku district. The goal is to create a new photo spot that makes passersby stop, snap a picture, and share it on social media.

"Ultra Monument" Large-Scale Landmark Display
Upon entering the store, visitors will be greeted by a roughly 3-meter-tall, silver-painted Ultraman Tiga statue, serving as the symbol of ULTRA MART.
Within the mirrored space, Tiga's figure will be reflected endlessly, creating a stunning visual impact and destined to become the store's most popular photo opportunity.

During the opening period, there will be daily Meet & Greet events. Anyone visiting Harajuku will have the chance to get up close with Ultraman heroes and Kaiju. The schedule of appearing characters and participation details will be announced on official social media channels.
