Get ready to cool off in style! STRICT-G JAPAN, the sub-brand of the official Gundam fashion label STRICT-G, has always been about blending traditional Japanese culture and art with modern apparel, offering fans a unique style choice.
Now, they're teaming up with the venerable fan maker Nishikawa Shoroku Shoten to drop a stunning collection of folding fans! This collaboration features four designs inspired by iconic series: Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, and After War Gundam X. You can grab these beauties now on the Premium Bandai Japan website.
Founded in 1585, Nishikawa Shoroku Shoten is a legendary traditional shop specializing in fans, renowned for its exquisite fabrics and craftsmanship. Back in the day, before organized logistics existed in Japan, Nishikawa Shoroku Shoten was already a "curated shop" of sorts, selling "specially selected goods" across Japan, primarily centered in Osaka and Edo. Talk about a centuries-old trendsetter!
In recent years, to stay fresh and relevant, they've started creating innovative fan designs that appeal to a younger generation, often collaborating with popular anime IPs to tap into that market.
This latest collection draws its themes from three legendary series: Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, and After War Gundam X. The folding fans boast dynamic ink-wash style illustrations, with an enlarged fan surface that truly brings out the charm of each series. Plus, the fan ribs are dyed to match the character themes, fully immersing you in the Gundam universe.
