Kōji Miura's hit manga, "Blue Box," which just wrapped its five-year serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on July 13, has captured countless fans with its charming school romance. Good news for fans: Season 2 of the anime adaptation is set to premiere this October!
But hold up! No sooner had Miura-sensei posted his celebratory "it's a wrap!" message than he dropped another bombshell: he's already freaking out about not having a serialization anymore! His desperate plea of "Please give me work!" had fans cracking up, realizing their beloved mangaka is a total workaholic.

Just on the 13th, he shared a heartfelt thank you to his fans, celebrating the five-year journey to complete the series. He also urged everyone to look forward to the final volume of the manga and the anime's second season, hitting screens this October.

Yet, barely after the confetti settled, he posted again, practically begging, "Jump editorial department, please give me work! This state of freedom with no work... it's truly terrifying QQ."
Guess five years of non-stop serialization means he just can't hit the brakes, huh? XD
Fans flooded the comments, showering him with encouragement. Many acknowledged the immense effort of bringing a beloved series to a five-year conclusion and suggested future project ideas, even proposing he take on art duties for a story by another writer.
Of course, some netizens playfully quipped, "The moment you gain freedom, you immediately want to get rid of it!" It's a universal sentiment for office workers, and apparently, mangaka aren't immune either!

However, some fans also pointed out that the artwork seemed a bit inconsistent in the later stages of the serialization, likely due to the intense workload. They hoped Miura-sensei would take a good rest, recharge, and get back to his best before diving into his next creation.

At just 31, "Blue Box" is only Kōji Miura's third serialized work, but it's already a significant success. He's got plenty of time for future projects, but to finish one and immediately start begging for more work? Guess he's officially the industry's ultimate workhorse! XD
