We've previously featured the incredible work of Gunpla maestro morish (@O15RXnhQL8nvfYW), a GBWC 2023 Japan champion and 2025 runner-up. His "Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex Modified Successor" and "GQuuuuuuX Haman's Custom Gyan" builds showcased his meticulous craftsmanship and intricate lore, always blowing us away with his professional-grade artistry.
Recently, morish shared his latest masterpiece: the "Gouf Ignited Flight Custom Type." Built upon Bandai's "HG 1/144 Gouf Ignited" from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, this custom creation reimagines the Gouf with a fresh look through enhanced painting and components, earning widespread acclaim from fans.

The base kit, "HG 1/144 Gouf Ignited (Heine Westenfluss Custom)," actually just hit shelves in July. Its standout features include the vibrant orange color scheme and the fact that its pilot, Heine, is voiced by none other than T.M.Revolution. Since its release, it's become a hot topic among Gunpla builders eager to customize it.

True to its name, the "Gouf Ignited Flight Custom Type" is envisioned as a high-mobility atmospheric combat unit specifically designed for the Gouf Ignited. This concept guided its extensive modifications, resulting in a machine with significantly enhanced weaponry, ready for more demanding combat environments.

The most striking additions to this mobile suit are its large leg units, now equipped with built-in thrusters, and a formidable backpack flight module. The design concept focuses on a heavily modified machine specializing in high-mobility performance during low-altitude, low-speed flight, coupled with powerful ground attack capabilities.
For the build, morish used the HG Gouf Ignited as a foundation, incorporating parts like the leg units from the "HG 1/144 Rick Dom II (Gaia/Ortega Custom)." The overall transformation gives it a distinct aesthetic reminiscent of the Gouf Flight Type (MS-07H-8).

Its armament configuration is a clear homage to the Gouf Flight Type:
The left arm is equipped with a beam Gatling gun and shield, while its close-quarters weapon is a massive physical sword. The design specifically aims to convey its operational style: capable of deep strike missions in canyons, lowlands, and other terrains inaccessible to standard aerial mobile suits.

For the paint scheme, morish opted for shades of gray and brown, fitting its aerial combat role. The subdued colors are intended to give it a stealthy, phantom-like presence in the skies.
Essentially, this entire concept revolves around taking the Gouf Ignited as a base and transforming it into a version with the aesthetic of a Flight Type. It's a brilliant fusion of mobile suit designs from both the Universal Century (U.C.) and Cosmic Era (C.E.) timelines!

This build truly showcases morish's unique vision, creating a cross-series Gouf hybrid. If you're keen to see more of his incredible work, be sure to check out morish's X (formerly Twitter) for some serious Gunpla modding inspo!
