"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is undoubtedly Sony Pictures' biggest blockbuster of the year, and the studio's commitment to the sequel is fully reflected in its staggering costs. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Sony and its various co-branding partners have poured an astonishing $305 million into promotional efforts for "Brand New Day" alone. This figure surpasses the $288 million spent on its predecessor, "Spider-Man: No Way Home."

The marketing budget for "No Way Home" previously set a historic record, making it the most expensive film to promote at the time. Now, "Brand New Day" has pushed that benchmark even higher, dethroning its own franchise entry. This astronomical sum significantly eclipses "Brand New Day"'s production budget of $225 million.

At the box office, "Brand New Day" has already amassed an impressive $72 million from North American Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon preview screenings. This monumental haul shatters the $60 million record previously held by fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe film "Avengers: Endgame," establishing "Brand New Day" as the highest-grossing Thursday preview in cinematic history. It appears Spider-Man, flying solo, is more than a match for the entire Avengers roster.
