Academy Award-nominated actress Naomi Watts has confirmed her secret involvement in Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," where she voices Peter Parker's AI assistant, E.V., marking her reunion with Tom Holland after 12 years.
Watts shared a photo of her remote recording session via Instagram, writing: "From playing your mom to playing your AI, and 100% human-made. Congrats, Tom, Destin, and the entire 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' team on a historic opening weekend! So proud to be even a tiny part of this incredible film!"
The two previously played mother and son in the 2012 disaster film "The Impossible," which also marked Holland's live-action feature debut. Watts earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role, while Holland went on to become Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe three years later.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" grossed $360 million at the North American box office in its opening weekend and crossed $1 billion globally within six days of its release.
