Marvel Studios' highly anticipated "X-Men" reboot film has announced its second cast member, with "Heartstopper" star Kit Connor set to portray X-Men field leader Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops.
Connor is the second "Heartstopper" alum to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Joe Locke, who plays Wiccan, the son of the Scarlet Witch, previously appeared in "Agatha All Along." The first actor revealed for the new "X-Men" film, announced last week, was "Ready or Not" star Samara Weaving, who will take on the role of the mutant Emma Frost, also known as the White Queen. Weaving's casting news was made public last week.

The new "X-Men" film will be directed by Jake Schreier, known for "Thunderbolts*" (also referred to as "The New Avengers"). The screenwriting team includes Joanna Calo, who previously collaborated with Schreier on the first season of the Netflix series "Beef," and Lee Sung Jin, the creator of "Beef." Calo also penned an earlier draft of the "Thunderbolts*" script at Schreier's request.
