Casting news has been heating up for Marvel Studios' new "X-Men" film, which is expected to begin production next year. So far, Samara Weaving is confirmed to play the mutant Emma Frost, also known as the White Queen, while Kit Connor is set to star as the X-Men's leader, Scott Summers, aka Cyclops. It has also been revealed that the long-rumored Sadie Sink will indeed be playing Jean Grey.
Adding to the speculation, a major new rumor from scooper MyTimeToShineHello suggests Marvel is looking to bring back Dafne Keen to reprise her role as X-23, the successor to Wolverine. Keen first portrayed the character in "Logan" and later returned for a cameo in "Deadpool & Wolverine." If she does appear in the new "X-Men," it raises questions about whether she will be a permanent member of the new team or simply making a brief appearance.

The new "X-Men" will be directed by Jake Schreier, who is also helming "Thunderbolts*." The screenplay is being handled by the team behind the Netflix series "Beef," including season one writer Joanna Calo and show creator Lee Sung Jin. Calo also previously wrote a draft of "Thunderbolts*" for Schreier. The film is currently slated for a 2028 release.
