After 11 years in development, Lionsgate's live-action "Naruto" film has revealed its first cast member.
The Hollywood Reporter (THR) announced that Charles Melton, the rising British-Korean actor known for his roles in "Riverdale" and "Beef," is in final negotiations to portray Hatake Kakashi. This casting is reportedly all but confirmed.

Destin Daniel Cretton (pictured above), a key figure behind Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," the upcoming "Wonder Man" series, and "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," is set to direct and write the live-action "Naruto" adaptation. Production is slated to begin in February of next year, with more casting announcements expected soon.
