This Hand-Painted "GQuuuuuuX" Gunpla in Blue and White Porcelain Style is a Work of Art!

Gunpla builders, you know the drill! From painting and cutting to weathering effects, there are endless ways to customize your kits, and that's what makes Gunpla so much fun.

Creator Sorimachi (@yononaka_poison), known for their awesome Gunpla builds, took inspiration from the protagonist's mobile suit, the "GQuuuuuuX," from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. Using a hand-painting technique, they transformed the kit into a stunning work of art, mimicking the elegant look of blue and white porcelain. This incredible custom build has been racking up praise and attention online!

Sorimachi has a history of intricate hand-painted designs on Gunpla and other models. Even with the limited canvas a Gunpla kit provides, they manage to achieve spectacular results with their brushwork.

For this project, Sorimachi picked the "GQuuuuuuX," the main mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, which aired last year. The entire piece is hand-painted! By keeping some of the original plastic's molded color and adding transparent resin along with matte and glossy topcoats, they meticulously recreated the look and feel of ceramic pottery.

The hand-painted design features an asymmetrical pattern, with elements freely arranged while still maintaining overall visual balance.

While the GQuuuuuuX itself is highly articulated and can strike many poses, Sorimachi jokingly mentioned that with this elegant style, it's probably not best suited for dynamic battle poses (lol).

What do you think of this creative approach? Hand-painting offers endless possibilities for different styles. Perhaps this will inspire fellow Gunpla enthusiasts to try out this unique aesthetic for their next build!
