We've previously featured Japanese modeler Popogorilla (@changumu55), known for crafting incredible Pokémon-themed Gunpla builds like the "HG Mega Gardevoir" and "HG Greninja."
Now, Popogorilla is back with a new masterpiece! He's taken various Gunpla kits, disassembled, repainted, and reassembled them to create a stunning "Mega Scolipede," a Pokémon appearing in "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" and "Pokémon Champions." His ingenious concept and the build's fantastic execution are truly commendable.

"Mega Scolipede" is a newly revealed Mega Evolved Pokémon set to appear in "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" and "Pokémon Champions." In "Pokémon Legends: Z-A," it's the signature Pokémon of the character Tsubasa. While it sacrifices speed, it boasts significantly boosted physical attack and defense, making it a formidable force in battles.

For this build, Popogorilla once again utilized various loose Gunpla parts, constantly experimenting with different combinations. Since Mega Scolipede already has an armor-like appearance, the construction wasn't as challenging as some might think. However, finding the right parts to piece together and then painting and assembling them to achieve the desired look was crucial.
After sourcing the necessary parts, he assembled them and painted them in a base color. Even at this stage, it already captured the essence of Mega Scolipede, especially with its bulky body and iconic twin blades on its head.
Next up was the painting process, bringing the entire body to life with color.

Once assembled, this "Mega Scolipede" exudes a distinct mechanical vibe, almost like a future Paradox Pokémon. The overall look is undeniably cool, and its portrayal as a mechanical creature creates a unique atmosphere.
Especially impressive are the horns, crafted from Gunpla wing components, which gain an even more robust feel through the meticulous paintwork.

From the rear, you can spot booster-like designs on its tail, further enhancing the powerful mechanical effect.

Viewed from the front, it resembles a mechanical alien creature. Popogorilla himself noted that it has a strong "Zoids" vibe.

This marks Popogorilla's seventh attempt at combining Pokémon with Gunpla. From selecting the Pokémon to choosing the materials, he's extremely pleased with the results this time around.
