Paradox Interactive officially unveiled the new city-building game "LEGO Skylines" at Gamescom. Developed by Iceflake Studios, the title merges the urban planning gameplay of their renowned "Cities: Skylines" series with the creative freedom and building emphasis of LEGO bricks.

Unlike typical city simulation games, "LEGO Skylines" not only challenges players to plan functional roads, buildings, and industries but also encourages them to construct cities in more imaginative and whimsical ways.
For instance, the developers cite that players can place bakeries on every street corner, then have farmers on the other side of the city grow wheat to supply those shops for donut production, forming a complete supply chain.
The game will offer what the developers describe as an "absurdly vast" array of buildings, decorations, and various objects. Players can use LEGO bricks to freely construct bustling metropolises, quirky seaside towns, or even realize outlandish concepts that would be impossible in real-world cities.

Fredrik Löving, Global Head of Games at the LEGO Group, stated that the team's goal from the outset was not merely to create a LEGO city-building game, but to establish "LEGO Skylines" as one of the top titles in the genre.
While a release date has not yet been announced, the game is confirmed to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms.
