Gundam's official fashion brand, STRICT-G, has a history of epic collaborations with renowned brand ALPHA INDUSTRIES, consistently dropping gear that leaves Gundam fans' wallets weeping.
Now, the dynamic duo is back at it, announcing a fresh collaboration: LIGHT MA-1 flight jackets themed after the cinematic masterpiece, "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack"! These sleek jackets come in two iconic designs, one for Amuro Ray and another for Char Aznable. Each jacket is priced at 46,200 JPY and is currently available for pre-order on Japan's Premium Bandai website.

The LIGHT MA-1 first hit the scene in 1945, evolving as a successor to the A-2. It takes the L-2B flight jacket – a lighter, unpadded version of the MA-1 designed for warmer climates – as its base. The result is a lightweight, all-season LIGHT MA-1, reimagined with a modern, sleek silhouette perfect for today's styles.
These new STRICT-G ALPHA "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack" LIGHT MA-1 jackets, featuring Amuro Ray and Char Aznable designs, boast a deliberately subdued sheen for a sophisticated, understated vibe. Their lightweight, easy-to-throw-on feel makes them incredibly versatile for any season. Plus, they're infused with the rich Gundam universe, letting fans rock high-quality military-style apparel.

▼ Amuro Ray Version
The Amuro Ray version sports the spring/summer-friendly LIGHT MA-1 cut, with various patches and designs adorning the jacket. You'll find Amuro's exclusive logo on the right chest, while "Amuro Ray E.F.S.F." is subtly hidden beneath a patch on the left. The right shoulder features a detachable Federation patch. All these details are set against a deep blue base, complemented by a small Federation emblem embroidered on the back. Even the inner lining has hidden details, making it understated yet distinct.

▼ Char Aznable Version
Similarly, the Char Aznable version features the same spring/summer-ready LIGHT MA-1 silhouette, decked out with various patches and designs. Char's exclusive logo patch graces the right chest, while "Char Aznable NEO ZEON" is tucked away under a UC. 0093 patch on the left. A Neo Zeon patch adorns the right shoulder. The entire jacket is presented in a military green base, with a subtle Neo Zeon emblem embroidered on the back, and a striking red inner lining for a bold contrast.
