To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic manga "Yu-Gi-Oh!", the first-ever major retrospective for the late creator Kazuki Takahashi, KAZUKI TAKAHASHI: YU-GI-OH! ART WORKS, is set to make its grand debut at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO on December 12, 2026.
Organizers have officially released the main key visual for the event, along with details on exhibition highlights, ticket information, entry bonuses, and merchandise. A ticket lottery will begin on September 14.

The KAZUKI TAKAHASHI: YU-GI-OH! ART WORKS exhibition will trace the creative origins of Kazuki Takahashi through "Yu-Gi-Oh!" and his other works, offering a deep dive into the artist's journey. It will feature a massive collection of priceless original manuscripts, production materials from the conceptual stages, and rough sketches of characters and monsters. This marks the first large-scale exhibition dedicated to Takahashi's art.

The venue will be structured around the story of "Yu-Gi-Oh!", divided into five "CHAPTERS" that explore Takahashi's diverse creations and the passion behind them. The entire experience is designed as a "journey," guiding visitors step-by-step through Takahashi's unique world of artistic expression.
Over 370 original hand-drawn manuscripts will be on display, including color illustrations created during and after the manga's serialization, various works and documents, and behind-the-scenes process sketches—some of which have never been seen by the public before.
▼ INTRODUCTION: The Journey Begins
Upon entering the exhibition, visitors will be greeted by a massive visual installation built around five major themes that symbolize Takahashi's creative work. This piece will serve as a guide for the journey ahead, leading everyone into the world of art and expression that Takahashi created.

▼ CHAPTER Ⅰ|CHARACTER DESIGNER
This section focuses on the many distinctive characters of "Yu-Gi-Oh!". Presented in a solemn space designed to feel like an ancient ruin, this area introduces the series' larger-than-life main characters alongside original artwork from classic scenes.

▼ CHAPTER Ⅱ|GAME CREATOR
"Yu-Gi-Oh!" originally launched with the fresh concept of a "battle manga where games, not fists, are the weapons." This area will showcase original art from the early, episodic chapters of the series, featuring the various games Takahashi created. Visitors can look back at the creative starting point for Takahashi and the origins of the game that would later take the world by storm.

▼ CHAPTER Ⅲ|MONSTER DESIGNER
Centered on original art from the iconic "Duelist Kingdom" and "Battle City" arcs, this section brings the thrilling world of the "Duel Monsters" card game to life. With every draw, a new monster could be born, and a diverse array of creatures appear alongside the heart-pounding story.
Additionally, a Millennium Puzzle photo spot, themed around "friendship" and the "power of unity," will be available for visitors to capture a memento of their visit.

▼ CHAPTER Ⅳ|STORYTELLER
This area is designed as a space steeped in history, evoking ancient memories and reminiscent of the "Ceremonial Battle." It will feature original artwork from the "Millennium World" arc, guiding visitors as they uncover the mysteries of the Millennium Items and the past of Yami Yugi. While revisiting the dramatic plot twists, guests will also reconnect with the creative philosophy and emotions Takahashi poured into his work.

▼ CHAPTER Ⅴ|The Journey's End
The final section unveils a wealth of rare creative materials, including color illustrations drawn during and after the manga's run, card art for the OCG, and production materials from the 2016 film "Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions." For the movie, Takahashi personally served as the original creator, scriptwriter, character designer, and chief production supervisor, and the exhibit will feature valuable behind-the-scenes materials, including never-before-seen process sketches. Other manga works such as "DRUMP" and "THE COMIQ" will also be introduced.

Bonus Tickets Include "Proof of a Duel King"
Special tickets with a bonus item will come with the exclusive "Proof of a Duel King" collectible. This item is based on the original designs of the three Egyptian Gods from the series—Slifer the Sky Dragon, Obelisk the Tormentor, and The Winged Dragon of Ra—and features a deluxe finish.
For those who miss out, the "Proof of a Duel King" will also be available for pre-order after the exhibition concludes. This post-event sale will be open to everyone, regardless of whether they held an exhibition ticket.

All attendees will also receive one "My Turn!! Double-Layer Sticker." There are seven designs in total, distributed randomly. These stickers feature a two-layer design; peeling off the top layer reveals another sticker underneath, letting fans experience the thrill of a "draw" just like in the game.

A variety of original merchandise will also be sold at the exhibition venue, with more items to be revealed soon. Fans should stay tuned for future announcements.
