At 1,850 yen per pull, and with three distinct parts needed to complete the full Gundam bust, all acquired randomly, you'd think collectors might hesitate before diving in. But GASHAPON's latest "EXCEED MODEL TRINITY RX-78-2 Gundam" online exclusive defied expectations, selling out in a flash after its launch on the morning of August 31st. The phrase "sold out in 1 hour" even became a trending topic on Japan's X!

Bandai GASHAPON officially announced at 11 AM that pre-orders for the "EXCEED MODEL TRINITY RX-78-2 Gundam Cable + Light Unit Set" were open on GASHAPON ONLINE. Japan's X quickly compiled discussions under the headline "GASHAPON Exclusive Gundam Bust Model, Sold Out in 1 Hour." The item, originally slated for sale until September 10th, displayed "SOLD OUT" in an incredibly short time.
The "EXCEED MODEL TRINITY" is GASHAPON's new capsule-less model series. This RX-78-2 Gundam is divided into three parts: "Outer Armor," "Inner Frame," and "Core Fighter Cockpit." All three must be collected to assemble the complete, approximately 20cm tall bust. The online exclusive version also includes cables, a head light unit, and a cockpit light unit, allowing for a highly detailed display that recreates the external armor deployment, internal mechanical structure, and illuminated effects.

Precisely because all three parts are essential but still acquired through random draws, some worried before the sale: "You need all three to complete it, and each pull is 1,850 yen. Do we really have to rely on luck?" To collect the complete bust at the lowest cost, assuming no duplicates, would require 5,550 yen. If duplicates occurred, the budget for completing the Gundam would only climb higher.
However, once the sale actually began, people didn't even have time to worry about duplicates before the items were gone. X user "Momo no Gunpla Hajimemashita" shared that they were so busy with work they forgot the sale had started, only to realize everything was sold out. They exclaimed in surprise, "It's a random draw at 1,850 yen per pull, yet the stock couldn't even last an hour!" Another user, upon seeing the sold-out product page, also expressed disbelief, ultimately left with the regret of "not being able to buy it."

While some couldn't even get their first pull in, others were as lucky as if they'd entered a cheat code. X user "Mugiwara no Harry" revealed their draw results, obtaining the Outer Armor, Inner Frame, and Core Fighter Cockpit in just three pulls, with no duplicates whatsoever. They couldn't help but write "Miracle," and this perfectly executed result naturally became the most envied moment amidst the sell-out frenzy.

Currently, the GASHAPON ONLINE product page has opened for "restock requests," though this doesn't guarantee an official replenishment of stock. For those who missed out, all hope isn't lost: a standard gashapon version, without the cables and light units, is expected to roll out in physical stores across Japan starting in September, priced at 1,500 yen per pull. But if you want your complete RX-78-2 Gundam to truly "light up" in your display case, for now, your best bet is to hit that restock request button and wait for official replenishment.
