Chloe Bennet, who played Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," recently told ELLE that she remains frustrated the series has never been officially recognized as Marvel Cinematic Universe canon.
"I'm honestly still a little upset that they haven't fully recognized the show as canon. Fans who followed us from the beginning will know what I mean," Bennet said. "We were the first MCU television series, and we made more than 130 hour-long episodes."
"We were in viewers' homes for a very long time, and I devoted a huge part of my life to playing this character and watching this young woman grow into her powers. Looking back now, there is so much symbolism in that journey."
"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." premiered in 2013 and initially highlighted its ties to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with guest appearances by characters including Nick Fury and Peggy Carter. As the story later introduced parallel timelines and alternate versions of characters—and declined to directly address the Snap—the series gradually drifted away from the movies' main continuity.
"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is also absent from Disney+'s MCU Complete Timeline. By contrast, Netflix-era shows such as "Marvel's Daredevil" were eventually brought back into the official canon.
Still, Bennet made it clear that she would immediately say yes if Marvel ever asked her to return.
"I absolutely love Daisy. Sometimes I feel like I am Daisy, and I would be fiercely protective of her," she said, adding that she hopes to revisit the character with the personal growth she has experienced in the years since leaving the role.
