With Ichiban Kuji, most fans usually have their eyes on the top-tier A and B prizes—often figures or the most valuable items in the lineup—or the Last One Prize waiting at the very end.
But Bandai recently revealed the complete prize lineup for “Ichiban Kuji Mobile Suit Gundam UNIVERSAL CENTURY SAGA INTERLUDE,” which goes on sale November 5. The D Prize, a giant cloth poster featuring Garma Zabi, recreates the portrait displayed at his funeral in the anime. The moment it was unveiled, fans declared that the giant cloth poster was now the prize they wanted most.

The “Garma Zabi Giant Cloth Poster” measures approximately 200cm long and 140cm wide. It can be hung on a wall or spread across a table, giving fans an absolutely enormous version of Garma Zabi’s portrait.

Of course, anyone familiar with Mobile Suit Gundam knows exactly where this image comes from. After being betrayed and manipulated by his close friend Char Aznable, Garma is killed during an attack by White Base—and this massive portrait appears at the Principality of Zeon’s state funeral for him.
Looking back at the scale of the portrait in the original anime, Zeon clearly knew how to honor a fallen officer. That thing was enormous.

The D Prize immediately caught fans’ attention, with one user rewriting Gihren Zabi’s famous funeral speech, “My beloved younger brother, Garma Zabi, is dead! Why?!” as “My beloved younger brother, Garma Zabi, has become a poster! Why?!”

Naturally, fans also realized that pairing it with a poseable Gihren Zabi figure would let them recreate the entire state funeral scene at home.

Another fan praised the idea: “Whoever pitched this may already be testing just how far they can push things before people start complaining. Excellent. Give us more!”

Even Airi Furukawa—the former captain of SKE48 Team KII who is now a manga artist—said she desperately wanted the D Prize. As a devoted Char fan, there was no way she could resist.

With this hanging at home, you can finally hold Garma’s state funeral in your own living room. Sieg Zeon!

“Ichiban Kuji Mobile Suit Gundam UNIVERSAL CENTURY SAGA INTERLUDE” goes on sale November 5. The lineup includes plenty of great prizes, but thanks to its role in the story—and its truly colossal size—the Garma Zabi giant cloth poster has completely stolen the spotlight. Whoever keeps approving ideas like this at Ichiban Kuji, please keep them coming.
