Chiikawa’s first animated feature, Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island, has been a box-office powerhouse since hitting theaters on July 24. With a steady stream of exclusive admission bonuses helping to keep the momentum going, it has become Japan’s highest-grossing film of the year.
On October 7, the official team unveiled the movie’s second main visual along with details on upcoming admission bonuses. The third, fourth, and sixth waves of previously released bonuses will be brought back before the end of the year, giving fans who missed out when supplies ran dry another chance to score them at theaters.

The new visual places Chiikawa, Hachiware, Hitoha, and Futaba beneath a star-filled night sky, their faces illuminated by a campfire as they quietly gaze at one another.
Behind them, Usagi, Shimajiro, Rakko, Momonga, Furuhonya, Kurimanju, Shisa, and the rest of the gang sit shoulder to shoulder around the fire, enjoying a cheerful night together on an island wrapped in starlight and the warm glow of the flames.

The team also shared more information on future admission bonuses. Select items that sold out early due to limited quantities, or are expected to disappear quickly, will be redistributed before the end of the year.
The returning lineup includes the sixth-wave charm mini figures, which begin distribution on October 10, as well as the third-wave “Cheerful Siren♪” pull-back cars and the fourth-wave charm mini figures. Exact redistribution dates and further details will be announced later.

The movie has also crossed ¥17.2 billion at the box office after 75 days in theaters through October 6, with admissions surpassing 11.78 million.
Its pace may have cooled compared with the previous month, but the film continues to post steady growth. With more admission bonuses on the way, the ¥20 billion milestone is now within reach—and Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island remains the year’s undisputed theatrical heavyweight.
