Written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, the Dr.STONE manga may have wrapped up its serialization in 2022, but its anime adaptation only recently reached the finish line, with the final season, "Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE," concluding in June 2026.
During the STONE FES.2026 event on October 10, an all-new anime titled Dr.STONE TERRAFORMING was officially announced. The sequel will adapt "TERRAFORMING," the post-finale story collected in Volume 27 of the original manga.
The announcement also came with celebratory messages from Riichiro Inagaki, the original manga's writer, and artist Boichi.

Thank you to everyone who watched STONE FES.2026! I was deeply moved to see the Dr.STONE anime make it all the way to the manga's final chapter.
And now, somehow, there is still more story to tell! We weren't lying! After all, Senku and the gang's scientific adventures never really ended. Honestly, though, that is exactly the kind of lie I would welcome. We could even say this finale event was never really the finale. "The finale? Just kidding!" That would be perfectly fine with me!
So please stick around and follow Senku and the gang's scientific adventures for just a little longer. This is incredibly exhilarating!!

Thank you to everyone who joined us in person at STONE FES.2026, everyone who watched the livestream, and everyone who has continued supporting the Dr.STONE anime!
I am truly delighted that we can all celebrate the news that Dr.STONE TERRAFORMING is officially in production. Please look forward to more updates!
Anime character designer Yuko Iwasa also created a special illustration celebrating the sequel's production announcement.
The announcement trailer features a newly recorded line from Senku—"This is exhilarating!"—before dramatically unveiling the "TERRAFORMING" title, teasing another brand-new scientific adventure for Senku and the crew.
Just when it seemed the anime had reached its conclusion, a sequel is officially on the way. No release date has been announced yet, so fans will have to wait a little longer for further details.
