The popular Detective Conan anime arc "The Crimson Closing Day" officially wrapped up with "The Final Show" on October 10. After cracking the case, Heiji Hattori finally confessed his feelings to Kazuha Toyama, making the two an official couple at long last. The long-awaited manga moment has now made its anime debut—and quickly became a major talking point across Japanese social media.
To celebrate Heiji and Kazuha finally getting together, HARUKAS 300, the observation deck at Osaka’s ABENO HARUKAS that inspired the episode’s setting, is also hosting a special event where fans can toast the new couple.

▼ X even summed up the milestone with a trending-topic headline declaring that the 28-year romance had finally reached its happy ending, counting from the characters’ first anime appearances.

Collected in Volume 106 of the original manga, "The Crimson Closing Day (The Final Show)" takes place in Osaka. After successfully solving the case, Heiji confesses to Kazuha at the observation deck of Naniwa Harukas. By the time they return from the deck, they are holding hands, with Ran Mouri and Kazuha’s mother, Sakura Toyama, watching nearby.

The confession scene also features Mai Kuraki’s "Togetsukyo (Kimi Omofu)" as its background music. The emotional sequence hit fans hard, with many admitting that they could not hold back their tears.
The real-life setting, the HARUKAS 300 observation deck at ABENO HARUKAS, has already been hosting a 30th-anniversary anime exhibition in collaboration with Detective Conan since July. Starting October 11, the venue will add a special experience allowing fans to relive Heiji and Kazuha’s confession scene for themselves.
Footprint markers will be placed where Heiji and Kazuha stood in the anime. Fans can listen to audio from the episode while taking in the view from roughly 300 meters above the city, recreating the atmosphere of the confession firsthand.
The return elevator from the observation deck to the 16th-floor entrance lobby will also play a special "Heiji♡Kazuha" voice track written by Gosho Aoyama. What did the two talk about as they rode the elevator back down after the confession? This follow-up scene, never depicted in either the manga or anime, will be available exclusively at HARUKAS, offering fans a glimpse of Heiji and Kazuha’s first moments as a couple.
