"Godzilla-0.0" Final Trailer Unleashes Floating Houses, Mass Destruction, and a Blue-White Atomic Heat Ray

Written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who also supervised the visual effects, Godzilla-0.0 is closing in on its theatrical release. The final trailer has now officially arrived, plunging Koichi Shikishima, played by Ryunosuke Kamiki, and the rest of the cast back into Godzilla’s shadow—and a new level of despair.

The trailer opens with an ominous declaration from Dr. Ogata, played by Jun Kunimura: “I can say for certain. That patient... she had no business surviving.” From there, everything spirals into chaos. Houses mysteriously float in midair as a trapped woman screams in terror. Beams rain down from above, explosions erupt across the city, and debris crashes to the ground while civilians scramble for safety. Shikishima and his companions can only watch, visibly overwhelmed.

Leads Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe return as Koichi Shikishima and Noriko, respectively. In the trailer, Noriko is overcome by the disaster unfolding before her, while weather forecaster Makoto Aoyama, played by Masami Nagasawa, quietly urges those around her to run. Amid the chaos, Akiko offers a silent prayer, capturing the characters’ sharply different responses to the crisis.

From levitating houses to beams descending from the sky, the trailer offers no explanation for what is causing these strange events. Instead, it leans into the mounting panic, emphasizing the terrifying unknown at the heart of the new crisis. Godzilla finally emerges in the closing moments and unleashes a blue-white atomic heat ray. A newly released still also shows the monster roaring toward the heavens, though the connection between these anomalies and the patient mentioned by Dr. Ogata remains unclear.

The trailer was first screened on October 8, 2026, during a special IMAX rerelease of Godzilla Minus One. Takashi Yamazaki and actor Miou Tanaka also appeared at the event before the trailer received its public release on October 11.

Takashi Yamazaki returns to direct, with the sequel promising an even more ambitious visual-effects spectacle than its predecessor. Godzilla-0.0 is also the first Japanese production to receive the “Filmed for IMAX” designation. The film held its world premiere at the New York Film Festival on September 26, 2026, and will open in Japan on November 3 before arriving in North America on November 6.
