DC’s Absolute Universe Justice League Finally Assembles: "Absolute Justice" Launches in 2027 as Martian Manhunter Rallies the Team Against Darkseid

DC Comics announced at New York Comic Con (NYCC) that "Absolute Justice," a five-issue miniseries uniting six heroes from the Absolute Universe as a full team for the first time, will launch in April 2027. "Absolute Superman" writer Jason Aaron will pen the series, with Juan Ferreyra handling the artwork.

The lineup features Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern Jo Mullein and Flash Wally West. Although Martian Manhunter’s solo series has concluded, he will play a pivotal role in the new story by bringing the heroes together. Batman and Wonder Woman have crossed paths before, but this marks the first time all six characters will share the spotlight in the Absolute Universe.

The official teaser points to Darkseid and the other "true rulers of this world," warning the heroes to abandon all hope. The crossover will unfold as a standalone miniseries and will not interrupt any of the line’s ongoing titles.

The Absolute Universe reexamines the essence of its heroes by stripping away their familiar backgrounds and resources. Batman, for example, no longer has his fortune, mansion or butler. Both "Absolute Batman" and "Absolute Wonder Woman" were nominated for Best New Series at the 2025 Eisner Awards, with the latter ultimately taking home the prize.

DC also announced that "Absolute Batman" #26, arriving in January 2027, will spotlight Barbara Gordon, with Cliff Chiang handling the artwork. Black Canary will also headline a one-shot in 2027 after this incarnation of the character previously debuted in "Absolute Green Arrow."
