Voice actor Kenichi Suzumura is best known for roles including Shinn Asuka in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, Mikiya Kokutou in The Garden of Sinners, and Obanai Iguro in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
INTENTION, the voice actor talent agency headed by Suzumura, updated its official website on October 13 to announce that the company will dissolve on March 31, 2027. The agency said the decision stems from the adjustment disorder diagnosis Suzumura disclosed in February 2026, which has left him unable to remain involved in running the business.
Suzumura has previously taken time away from work due to health issues. He announced a hiatus in May 2024 before returning that July. In February 2026, he again stepped away from work to focus on his recovery after being diagnosed with adjustment disorder, returning in July after nearly four months of rest.
INTENTION announced on its official website: “INTENTION Inc. will formally dissolve on March 31, 2027. The decision is due to representative director Kenichi Suzumura’s adjustment disorder.”
The company continued: “His doctor has determined that his condition will not improve as long as he remains involved in the company’s management. We deeply regret the circumstances, but ultimately had no choice but to make the difficult decision to dissolve the company.”
The statement added: “We sincerely apologize for the concern and inconvenience caused by this sudden announcement. We will do everything in our power to support our affiliated talent as they plan their careers following the company’s dissolution.”
Founded by Suzumura and his former manager Atsushi Kuwahara, INTENTION may have a relatively compact roster, but it represents a considerable lineup of established voice actors, including Nao Toyama, Yuichi Nakamura, Yuma Uchida, Kazuhiro Nakaya, Aya Endo, Natsumi Kawaida, and Shoya Ishige. Their next moves will now be closely watched.
Although Suzumura has resumed his voice acting career, the agency he leads as representative director will dissolve because of his condition. Above all, fans will be hoping he puts his health first so they can continue hearing his performances for years to come.
