Many readers will be familiar with renowned manga artist Masakazu Katsura. Late last year, he revealed that he had undergone major surgery. After taking time to recuperate, Katsura returned to actively sharing updates from his daily life on X and recently announced a one-of-a-kind art book devoted to “butts.”
Katsura recently shared another illustration on X, this time featuring a yokai. Despite the supernatural subject, however, the focus remained firmly on the butt, sparking a lively response from fans impressed that Katsura could bring his signature approach to even a monstrous character.

Katsura regularly shares his artwork on social media and has recently unveiled several illustrations of beautiful female spirits. This time, he posted another female yokai titled “Aburaname” (Oil-Licking Woman), bluntly declaring: “The focus of this drawing is… the butt.”

Although the character’s butt is not directly exposed, the curves visible through her clothing were enough to earn plenty of praise. Fans commented: “As expected, butts really are the best…,” “Please publish a yokai art book someday,” and “The way the lines flow from the waist to the hips shows that Katsura really understands how to bring out their appeal.”

Interestingly, Katsura later unveiled another yokai illustration, this time featuring the far more monstrous-looking “Karakasa Girl.” Once again, he declared that “the focus is… the butt!” Even with such a frightening creature, Katsura remained firmly committed to placing its rear end at the center of attention.

The illustration also attracted considerable attention for the creature’s distinctive appearance, including an inventive design in which its two legs merge into a single limb beneath the umbrella. It once again demonstrated Katsura’s unique imagination when it comes to designing yokai.
The character is also depicted without underwear beneath the umbrella, exposing Katsura’s trademark curves. It is difficult to imagine how such an inhuman-looking yokai could be made this alluring, yet Katsura somehow managed to give it an unmistakably sensual appeal.

Hailed for decades as one of manga’s greatest artists when it comes to drawing butts, Katsura has continued attracting attention with the artwork he shares on social media. His steady stream of new creations shows that his imagination and formidable drawing skills remain as strong as ever, further proving why he is regarded as a true master of the craft.
