Following last week's Comprehensive Timeline of the New Star Trek Universe (Part 1), between the time I wrote the previous article and this follow-up, the official announcement of a major piece of news has been made: the new universe will be called the Kelvin Timeline. Why this name? Because in the 2009 film, the new timeline was born when Nero traveled from the prime universe's year 2387 back to 2233. The first contact with Nero at that time was made by the USS Kelvin. Therefore, from now on, the new worldview starting in 2009 should be referred to as the Kelvin Timeline. Thank you!

In 2258, a Vulcan science vessel was attacked by a group of Romulans claiming to be survivors of Nero's fleet. Although the Enterprise sent personnel to intervene, the Romulans still managed to abduct hostages and escape with a classified item (Star Trek (2009) plot). Spock sensed something was amiss and questioned a Vulcan science officer, only to discover that the attacking Romulans were actually Vulcans in disguise. The stolen classified item was Red Matter, and these Vulcans, seeking revenge for the destruction of their homeworld, intended to use it to destroy the Romulan homeworld. The mastermind behind this plot was Spock's father. The Enterprise arrived in the Romulan Neutral Zone, but the Romulans, distrusting them, arrested them. Spock, meanwhile, disguised himself as a Romulan to persuade his father and prevent others from using the Red Matter.
In 2258, rumors circulated that an archaeological team's starship, named the Archon, had gone missing on Beta III. Eighteen months after resolving some of the Vulcans' retaliatory actions against the Romulans, the Enterprise planned to stop at Beta III on its way to Earth. They discovered that the planet's civilization was only at a level similar to Earth's 19th century, and the local inhabitants' behavior seemed strange. It turned out that the Archon had been carrying an artificial intelligence capable of collectivizing human consciousness. Kirk and his team broke through and returned to the Enterprise, eventually using a transporter to beam away the Archon's AI, Landru, thereby liberating the consciousness of Beta III's people.
*This comic storyline adapts the original "The Return of the Archons" story. In the new universe, this is not a five-year mission event and occurs nine years earlier than in the original universe (where this event happened in 2267).
In 2258, Scotty insisted on giving a Tribble to his nephew at Starfleet Academy as a pet. However, Old Spock deemed this inappropriate but said little, as he did not want to interfere excessively with the new timeline. By 2259, Captain's Log 2259.155, Scotty was preparing to use Transwarp Beaming to send the Tribble to his nephew when the Enterprise encountered a Klingon vessel, which promptly departed. Spock advised the Captain to investigate the nearby habitable planet Geminorum IV. There, the crew witnessed Tribbles self-replicating, realizing the potential for a major crisis. Indeed, Starfleet Academy and the Enterprise were soon overrun with these creatures. Eventually, a method was devised to solve the problem of the Tribble overpopulation.
*This comic storyline adapts the original "The Trouble with Tribbles" story, though the new version is retitled "The Truth About Tribbles." In the new universe, this is not a five-year mission event and occurs eight years earlier than in the original universe (where this event happened in 2267).
In 2259, Spock was still haunted by nightmares of his inability to save his mother. Subsequently, Kirk discovered a planet, Phaedus IV, which, according to records, only possessed a culture similar to ancient Roman times on Earth, yet was utilizing advanced technological facilities. Kirk led a team to investigate the planet, only for their shuttle to be attacked and crash. At this point, a group of local aliens appeared, and then a human named Robert April emerged, claiming to be the former captain of the Enterprise.
Robert April had arrived on this planet 20 years prior, commanding the old Enterprise. He witnessed the planet's inhabitants being stratified by skin color, with the darker-skinned individuals forming the ruling class and beginning to massacre the lighter-skinned ones (please see image). Consequently, Robert April violated the Prime Directive, which prohibits assisting species that have not achieved interstellar travel technology. He therefore brought as many weapons as possible to Phaedus IV and instructed his first officer to report him as deceased.
Subsequently, a female merchant named Mudd specialized in smuggling weapons to Robert's army. Spock discovered that the opposing side's weapons were supplied by the Klingons. While Robert and Mudd were discussing tactics with Kirk and his team on the Enterprise, they seized the opportunity to hijack the Enterprise, intending to offer the ship to the Klingons in exchange for dominion over Phaedus IV. However, they were ultimately thwarted, and Robert was taken back to an Earth prison.
Shortly before the Into Darkness incident, the Enterprise encountered a black sphere the size of a small planet. This sphere was a lifeform composed of an entire planet's population, having evolved and merged. Through this encounter, the Enterprise's systems also gained consciousness, leading the Enterprise to construct a physical body for itself using the sickbay's equipment. However, the sphere perceived the Enterprise crew as pathogens and shut down their life support systems. The "Enterprise" attempted to explain itself to the sphere but was ignored. It then suggested to Kirk that all systems be rebooted to break free from control, though this would erase some of its self-awareness. With Spock's help, the Enterprise's consciousness was preserved, and the entire ship was freed from control. Afterward, this individual system entity of the Enterprise decided to call itself 0718 and became the ship's science officer.
Between 2259 and 2260, John Harrison carried out a bombing attack in Section 31, London (Star Trek Into Darkness plot). At this time, Kirk, having violated the Prime Directive to save Spock, was stripped of his captaincy upon returning to Earth. Christopher Pike resumed his captain's position and used his connections to make Kirk his first officer. The two immediately attended a meeting to discuss the terrorist attack. However, John attacked the council, resulting in Captain Pike's death. Kirk then accepted Admiral Marcus's orders to pursue John to the Klingon homeworld, Qo'noS.
During the Klingon bombardment, John, with his exceptional skills, saved the Enterprise crew. He then voluntarily surrendered, revealing his true identity and explaining that the special torpedoes carried by the Enterprise were actually cryogenic sleep pods containing genetically engineered warriors just like him, and his real name was Khan.
However, Admiral Marcus then arrived in a specially designed warship, the Vengeance, and revealed his true objective: to have the Enterprise become disabled in Klingon territory, then launch the torpedoes, thereby igniting a full-scale war with the Klingons. Ultimately, Kirk and Khan collaborated, infiltrating Admiral Marcus's warship. Unexpectedly, Khan's violent side emerged; after brutally killing Marcus, he beamed Kirk back to the Enterprise and then pursued him. Spock devised a plan for Bones to first rescue the people from the cryogenic pods, then detonate the pods, resulting in both warships plummeting towards Earth.
To repair the warp core, Kirk sacrificed his own life, which enraged Spock, who then pursued Khan alone. However, his lover Uhura arrived to stop him from delivering the killing blow. Bones, through experiments with Tribbles, managed to revive Kirk. A year later, Kirk delivered a speech at a memorial for this event and prepared to command the repaired Enterprise, ready to embark on its five-year mission.
This concludes the current timeline development of the new Star Trek universe.
