Have you all seen "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" in theaters yet? We're sure the most memorable aspect for everyone was the interaction between the Venom duo. Here, we've compiled ten little-known facts about Venom, offering more intriguing information for those who are still craving more after the movie or simply haven't had enough!
1. Venom Was Once Intended to Be a Female Character!
When the new character "Venom" was being created, then-Spider-Man comic writer David Michelinie initially intended for a woman to become Venom. In this version of the origin story, Spider-Man distracted a taxi driver, causing him to crash and kill a man. The man's pregnant wife later suffered a miscarriage due to the strain of making a living, ultimately becoming one of Spider-Man's terrifying villains.
As for why we don't see this story today? It's said that then-editor Jim Salicrup rejected it with the highly discriminatory reason that "women aren't fit to be Spider-Man's opponents."

2. The "Black Suit" Was Originally Designed by a Fan
In the 1980s, a loyal fan named Randy Schueller once wrote to Marvel Comics' editorial department, proposing that Mister Fantastic design an all-black uniform for Spider-Man that would enhance his abilities.

Then-Marvel Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter was very interested in the idea, buying it for $220 and commissioning Randy to write a story related to it. Unfortunately, Randy's story wasn't well-received, so the concept eventually evolved into the "Venom Symbiote" that appeared in Secret Wars.

3. Deadpool Wore the Venom Symbiote Before Spider-Man
For years, it was believed that Spider-Man was Venom's first host. However, in recent years, not only have many of Venom's past hosts been revealed, but even Deadpool wore the symbiote before the web-slinger! In 2015's "Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars," although the 2015 version of Secret Wars was currently underway, Deadpool was recounting his experiences during the 1985 Secret Wars. (The character hadn't even been created in 1985, LOL.)
Deadpool, who arrived on Battleworld with other heroes and villains, also had his uniform damaged and, following Thor and Hulk's advice, used a machine. Instead, he was possessed by a black orb, which transformed into a suit that could shapeshift according to his will! As a prankster character, Deadpool immediately put on a fashion show. However, the moment he discovered the black substance had a consciousness, he decided to put it back, fearing that his own madness would make the entity, which was mentally linked to him, also become abnormal. Spider-Man then walked in, initiating a series of events...
4. Venom Deeply Loves Its Hosts
Over the years, the Venom symbiote has had many hosts in the comics. Even so, it never forgets the experience of bonding with anyone and frequently attempts to re-bond with certain old hosts. Once, when Eddie Brock was fighting Spider-Man as Venom, Spider-Man tricked the symbiote into thinking he wanted it back, and Venom actually abandoned Eddie! But Eddie eventually managed to reclaim it.
After "Scorpion" Mac Gargan became the new Venom, he unexpectedly found Eddie, who had returned to being a normal human, and wanted to beat him up. However, the symbiote on him tried to crawl back onto Eddie. But because Eddie had been touched by "Mister Negative," Eddie transformed into the new entity, "Anti-Venom."
After the death of "Agent Venom" Flash Thompson, the evil version of Mister Fantastic, "The Maker," told Eddie he intended to exhume Flash's body to study the connection between him and the symbiote. The Venom symbiote, which was originally in a brain-dead state, surprisingly reawakened and went on a rampage.
5. The Origin of the Symbiotes' Weaknesses
Most symbiotes are vulnerable to high heat and loud noises. Why is this? It's because the first symbiote, "All-Black the Necrosword," created by Knull, the God of the Abyss, was forged by him using the flames from within the heads of the Celestials. Thus, to this day, they still fear those intense flames and sounds.
6. Venom Can Possess All Sorts of Strange Things
When Flash Thompson served as Agent Venom, he spent some time as a high school gym coach in Philadelphia and engaged in superhero activities there. During a mission to clear out criminals, he possessed a junk car and crashed it into the enemy's base for a shocking effect! Unfortunately, this Venom Mobile only appeared once.

7. Venom Has a Clone That Split From Its Tongue, "Mania"
During a S.H.I.E.L.D.-led battle, the Fantastic Four successfully subdued Eddie, but a small piece of his tongue was severed. It was later recovered by an evil organization and "cloned" into a new Venom, until it was eventually reabsorbed into the main Venom entity.

Later, during a battle with Agent Venom, the villain "Jack O'Lantern" injured Flash's student, Andi Benton. To heal Andi's wounds, Flash wrapped the symbiote around her, which unexpectedly caused Mania to reappear and possess Andi!
8. Venom Eats and Excretes From the Same Mouth
Around Venom's mouth, we often see an unknown green slime. What exactly is it? According to The Maker, it's actually the symbiote's waste product after breaking down foreign objects within its body. For example, if a squad of soldiers were to open fire on Venom, it would decompose all the bullets inside its body and then expel them in a manner similar to saliva.
9. Venom's Dietary Preferences
While Venom seems capable of eating anything—including humans, cyborgs, living sand, animal-people, aliens, and all sorts of bizarre things—it does have taste preferences. During the period when "Scorpion" was Venom, it once stated that its favorite foods were Asgardians and squirrels!
10. Why Venom Loves Chocolate
Although it eats everything, there's one substance it absolutely must consume: phenethylamine, which is typically found in human brains; this is why Venom is always so fond of gnawing on people's heads. Fortunately, a common food also contains phenethylamine: chocolate, loved by both adults and children. If there's no chocolate to eat, the symbiote will go berserk and force its host to consume humans.
