Komeda's Coffee is widely known in Japan for its generous portion sizes. We previously reported on a netizen who ordered a mini shaved ice and was 'reverse defrauded' when the serving size exceeded expectations, a phenomenon much loved by Japanese customers.
While this is often joked about by netizens, not everyone is aware of this phenomenon. Former Japanese NMB48 member Yagura Fuko recently shared her experience dining at Komeda's Coffee on X. Looking at the menu and then at the served dish, she realized that everything said online was... true.

Looking at the dish Yagura Fuko ordered, the ice cream on the menu seemed... not very much. Unexpectedly, when the dish arrived, the ice cream almost filled... four-fifths of the plate. Even the original cherry was... submerged, with only a tiny bit showing. Yagura Fuko could only laugh at herself, saying: 'Wait... no way...'
Looking at this ice cream portion, which is completely different from the menu, it's no surprise that Komeda's has once again delivered a 'reverse fraud' to everyone, lol.

Many fans also responded: 'This is Komeda's trap lol,' 'Komeda's, no surprise,' and 'Komeda's items are usually 1.5 to 2 times larger than the menu photos.' It seems even idols need a heads-up; she was successfully 'reverse defrauded' this time XD.

The editor has also dined at Komeda's in Japan before, and the portions are indeed larger than similar restaurants. For its category, it offers excellent value. Having a dish served that's larger than it appears on the menu truly is a 'reverse fraud' XD. Perhaps all fellow collectors should keep this in mind when dining at Komeda's in Japan~
