Since Netflix unveiled the first trailer for the video game and novel adaptation "The Witcher" Season 4 in May 2024, the streamer has yet to announce further details, including new trailers or a premiere date.
While Henry Cavill's announcement that he would be stepping down from the role of Geralt in the video game and novel-based series "The Witcher" and his replacement by Liam Hemsworth, brother of "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth, initially sparked widespread fan dissatisfaction, Liam Hemsworth recently admitted in an interview on "Live With Kelly & Mark" that, aside from playing "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," he had no other exposure to "The Witcher" book series or the show.
"I hadn't watched the show, nor had I read 'The Witcher' original novels before this, but about ten years ago, I did play 'The Witcher 3' game, and even now, I still consider it one of the greatest video games of all time," Hemsworth stated. "It wasn't until about two years ago that Netflix approached me, wanting me to take on the role of Geralt, and as a fan of 'The Witcher' games, I was incredibly excited to be able to play this character."
Of course, as Liam Hemsworth mentioned, his understanding of "The Witcher" series was limited to the video games, so he didn't immediately accept Netflix's offer. Hemsworth explained, "I told them, 'Let me watch the show first, then read the books, so I can truly understand and immerse myself.'"
