Developed by Japanese model manufacturer Kaiyodo, the highly poseable and popular figure series 'AMAZING YAMAGUCHI' today showcased the latest work from the 'Evangelion' series, the developing prototype of 'EVANGELION Unit-01', at 'Wonder Festival 2024 Shanghai'. The release date is yet to be determined.
The 'AMAZING YAMAGUCHI' series features poseable figures sculpted by Kaiyodo's renowned sculptor Katsuhisa Yamaguchi, utilizing the highly acclaimed Revoltech joint parts. The series initially focused on Marvel and DC superheroes, and in recent years has expanded to include Japanese anime characters such as 'My Hero Academia' and 'Attack on Titan'. This series not only boasts impressive and powerful sculpting but also features extremely flexible articulation, which is the soul of the series, allowing for dynamic battle poses from the original works with various accessories and effects.
The release of 'EVANGELION Unit-01' can be seen as a return to the roots for Revoltech, constructing an entirely new product using completely new sculpting and the articulation technology cultivated in AMAZING YAMAGUCHI in recent years. The currently revealed prototype shows that each part features precise articulation splits for excellent poseability, and the entire body utilizes Revoltech joints to recreate powerful berserk and roaring poses.
