The "Harry Potter" film series, adapted from J.K. Rowling's beloved novels, became one of the most influential franchises globally, offering an unforgettable experience for its cast. However, for other stars who didn't get to join the magical world, it left an indelible sense of regret.
Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, known for her roles in films like "Lady Bird" and "Little Women," recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show, where she once again discussed missing out on the role of Luna Lovegood in the "Harry Potter" series, a character ultimately played by Evanna Lynch.
Ronan explained that while many missed opportunities can feel like a "mistake" in retrospect, the one that truly stuck with her wasn't a role she turned down, but one she simply didn't get. She described it as feeling like "another loss," a situation she felt she frequently encountered.

She recalled auditioning for Luna Lovegood in "Harry Potter" many years ago, noting that because the character was Irish, "half of Ireland" seemed to audition for the part. Ronan admitted she knew at the time that her chances were slim because she was "too young," but still considered it a "very cool experience" to read lines that would appear in the "Harry Potter" films.
