Following the confirmation that Emmy-nominated actor Kyle Chandler would join the DCU's inaugural live-action series, "Lanterns," as an older Hal Jordan, sources have now revealed the casting for another prominent Green Lantern: John Stewart. Netflix's "Rebel Ridge" star Aaron Pierre has been tapped for the role.
Previously, Canadian actor Stephan James, known for "The Piano Lesson," was rumored to be a contender for the part. After a competitive casting process, Pierre ultimately secured the role, set to star alongside Chandler in the highly anticipated series.
The DCU's first live-action television series, "Lanterns," will be co-produced and co-written by acclaimed comic book writer Tom King, alongside "Watchmen" series writer Damon Lindelof and "Ozark" producer Chris Mundy. HBO has officially greenlit the series for production.
