From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, the 'HG (High Grade)' series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, known for its diverse range of mobile suits, today announced two new product sets from the new 3D animation series "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance": "HG 1/144 Zaku II F-Type LeSEAN's Unit & Unidentified Zaku II LeSEAN's Unit" and "HG 1/144 Zaku II F-Type CHUBS's Unit & KALE's Unit + Unidentified Zaku II Solari's Unit Reproduction Parts Set". These are expected to open for pre-order soon on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The 3D animation "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance," produced using the Unreal Engine 5, is set to exclusively premiere all 6 episodes (30 minutes each) on Netflix starting October 17, 2024. This work is a collaboration between Sunrise and SAFEHOUSE, utilizing realistic 3DCG animation to depict powerful war scenes. The story is set in the Universal Century, the stage of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam," and portrays a brand-new original story taking place on the European front during the One Year War.
In this battle, the Principality of Zeon initially gained an advantage with their new weapon, the "Mobile Suit," successfully penetrating Earth's battlefields. However, due to the Earth Federation Forces' abundant resources, they developed the "Gundam" as a counter-weapon, and the war gradually became a stalemate. Eleven months after the war began, one of the Zeon-occupied bases on the Eastern European front was captured by the Federation Forces. To reclaim it, Zeon dispatched a mixed battalion, which included the "Red Wolves" Mobile Suit squad, led by protagonist Solari, who had just descended from space.
The "HG 1/144 Zaku II F-Type LeSEAN's Unit & Unidentified Zaku II LeSEAN's Unit" kit will include two mobile suits: the Zaku II F-Type piloted by Lieutenant KNEELAND LeSEAN, a member of the "Red Wolves" squad, and the Unidentified Zaku II. At 1/144 scale, these kits feature extremely detailed armor panel lines, mechanical structures, and other intricate details, as well as realistic chains and treads, faithfully reproducing mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane's realistic and practical design style.

The original new specification "Unidentified Zaku II" appearing in the series is a mobile suit urgently produced by the "Red Wolves" squad to counter the Federation Forces' White Devil — the Gundam EX. This unit is based on the Zaku II F-Type, assembled from parts of several mobile suits, aiming to maintain performance as close as possible to a standard Zaku. Additionally, scrap materials readily available on the battlefield, such as treads and chains, were added to its armor surface, like a placebo, hoping to offer some resistance against Gundam beam weapon damage.
The "HG 1/144 Zaku II F-Type CHUBS's Unit & KALE's Unit + Unidentified Zaku II Solari's Unit Reproduction Parts Set" kit includes two Zaku II F-Types piloted by "Red Wolves" squad members REID "CHUBS" GHELFI and KALE ZAVALETA, as well as a set of replacement parts that, when combined with the separately sold Zaku II F-Type Solari's Unit, can reproduce the "Unidentified Zaku II Solari's Unit."
