Following his starring role in the musical hit "The Greatest Showman," the multi-talented Hugh Jackman is set to team up with "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" star Kate Hudson for "Song Sung Blue," a new musical biopic centered on iconic American musician Neil Diamond.

Neil Diamond was a prolific American pop singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the 1960s and remained a major force through the '70s and '80s. His work has been covered by legends such as Elvis Presley and the British rock band Deep Purple, who both recorded versions of his song "Kentucky Woman." His duet with Barbra Streisand, "You Don't Bring Me Flowers," also soared to number one on the U.S. charts. Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984.
The film's title, "Song Sung Blue," is taken from Diamond's 1972 hit single of the same name. The project is also an adaptation of the 2008 documentary of the same name, directed by Greg Kohs.

Joining Jackman and Hudson in the cast are Michael Imperioli ("The Sopranos"), Fisher Stevens, Jim Belushi, Ella Anderson, singer-songwriter King Princess, Mustafa Shakir ("Cowboy Bebop"), and Hudson Hilbert Hensley.
The musical biopic "Song Sung Blue" will be directed and written by Craig Brewer. Filming is scheduled to commence on October 14, 2024.
