Walt Disney Animation Studios has officially released a collection of stunning theatrical posters for "Moana 2," the highly anticipated sequel to the 2016 animated hit "Moana." The new posters showcase familiar characters like Moana and Maui, inviting audiences to embark on an all-new adventure on the big screen.
Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson are both returning to reprise their roles as the voices of Moana and Maui, respectively. The returning voice cast also includes Temuera Morrison as Chief Tui, Alan Tudyk as Heihei, and American singer Nicole Scherzinger as Sina.
"Moana 2" was initially developed as a Disney+ series, intended to continue the story from the first film. However, Disney executives were reportedly impressed with early footage and felt the story's scope warranted a theatrical release, leading to a change in strategy. David G. Derrick Jr., a frequent collaborator with Disney, is credited with directing and writing the screenplay for the film.
The film is scheduled to premiere in North American theaters on November 27, 2024.
