Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz Reunite for Fourth Film "Day Drinker" with "The Amazing Spider-Man" Director

Following their collaborations in 2001's "Blow," 2011's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," and 2017's "Murder on the Orient Express," Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz are set to reunite for their fourth film, "Day Drinker," an upcoming Lionsgate production.

Directed by Marc Webb, known for "The Amazing Spider-Man," and penned by Zach Dean, writer of "The Tomorrow War," "Day Drinker" follows a cruise ship bartender who encounters a mysterious guest calling himself a "Day Drinker." This chance meeting spirals into a series of dark criminal events, during which the two discover an unexpected connection.

While rumors in March suggested Sydney Sweeney ("Euphoria," "Madame Web") would star opposite Depp, it is now officially confirmed that Penélope Cruz will join the cast. Notably, this marks Johnny Depp's return to a major Hollywood feature film following the conclusion of his high-profile legal battle with Amber Heard in 2022.
