HBO's "Harry Potter" Series: Veteran Mark Rylance Reportedly Eyed for Dumbledore Role

Since September 2024, when HBO officially began casting for three child stars, aged 9 to 11, to portray the iconic trio of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger in its upcoming "Harry Potter" series, recent reports indicate that the production may have found its Albus Dumbledore.

The actor reportedly eyed by the production team is 64-year-old veteran Sir Mark Rylance, known for his roles in films such as "Ready Player One," "Dunkirk," and "Don't Look Up."

While Warner Bros. Television has not yet officially entered negotiations with Rylance, Variety reports that the studio has already reached out to the actor to gauge his interest in joining the "Harry Potter" television series and to assess his availability.
