Amidst ongoing controversy surrounding "Palworld," which faces legal action from Nintendo, another video game is now drawing accusations of plagiarism from players.
The game in question, "Light of Motiram," developed by Tencent subsidiary Polaris Quest, is an open-world adventure title set in a post-apocalyptic world where "human civilization has vanished." However, players are pointing to its mechanical creatures—dubbed "Mechanimals," resembling gorillas and deer—and even the protagonist's character design, as potentially "overly borrowing" from, or outright plagiarizing, PlayStation's acclaimed "Horizon" series.

Adding to the controversy, "Light of Motiram" also features a system allowing players to tame and train these Mechanimals. This mechanic has led some players to speculate that, beyond the "Horizon" similarities in character and creature design, the game might also be "borrowing" from "Palworld," another title recently mired in its own plagiarism debates.
Some players have suggested that minor tweaks to the Mechanimals' designs, such as changing friendly lights to green and hostile lights to purple, might have made the similarities less egregious. However, they argue that the current character designs revealed for "Light of Motiram" are indefensible, prompting calls for "Horizon" developer Guerrilla Games to consider legal action.

While "Light of Motiram" currently has no confirmed release date, it is already listed on Steam.
