Cyberpunk 2077 x Balatro Crossover Guide: How to Find Every Joker and Unlock the Johnny Silverhand Reward

CD Projekt Red's surprise Patch 2.2 for "Cyberpunk 2077" has thrust the four-year-old first-person sci-fi RPG back into the spotlight.

Beyond overhauling features like the new CrystalCoat vehicle customization and Photo Mode, this major update introduces a surprise crossover quest with "Balatro," the indie hit nominated for Game of the Year at TGA 2024. By following the clues to find Joker symbols scattered across Night City, players can unlock apartment decorations featuring poker cards of Jackie, Rogue, and Johnny, along with a special event T-shirt.

So, how do you start this special "Joker Hunt" quest and find all the hidden symbols? After updating to Patch 2.2 and loading into the game, V will receive a text message from an unknown contact named Gimble. This message kicks off the hunt, providing the first photo clue to track down the Joker symbols.

Here are the locations for all ten symbols:

1. North Oak - Columbarium

The first symbol is located at the North Oak Columbarium—the memorial site for Night City's deceased. Look for a bus stop directly across from the Columbarium. You'll find the Joker symbol on a pillar, and a shard (card) on the bench. Pick it up to receive the photo clue for the next location.

2. North Oak Roundabout

You won't have to travel far for the second clue, as it's also in North Oak.

Head back towards the nearby roundabout and look for a large, golden flamingo statue. The "The Golden Joker" card is waiting at its base. Picking it up will reveal the third clue.

3. Misty's Esoterica

The third clue, with its row of lucky cats, is instantly recognizable to any "Cyberpunk" veteran.

This location is in the alley in Watson's Little China where you find Vik Vektor's clinic. Enter Misty's Esoterica, and you'll spot the lucky cats from the photo to your left. The "Lucky Cat" card is on the floor nearby.

4. Delamain HQ

This next location might take a moment to click.

The logo in the photo is for Delamain HQ, but it's been rotated 90 degrees, so you might not recognize it at first glance (though some sharp-eyed players might get it immediately).

Once you arrive at the headquarters, you'll need to climb on top of the building, near the main sign, to find the "Driver's License" card and your fifth clue.

5. Heywood - Cannery Plaza

The fifth clue takes you to the waterfront in Heywood. While finding the Joker symbol here is easy, grabbing the card that unlocks the sixth clue is a bit trickier.

The quickest way is to fast-travel to the Cannery Plaza point and head toward the water. The first fire escape you see is the spot from the photo, where you'll find the Joker symbol printed on the ground.

So where's the card? Since you're by the ocean, it's not on dry land. Players will need to jump into the water and dive down to find a card named "Splash." Pick it up to get the sixth clue.

6. Jinguji

If you remember the hidden events at Jinguji, this place will be familiar—you've likely visited at least twice. This "Balatro" crossover quest marks your third trip.

Enter the Jinguji boutique and head to the very back of the store, behind the counter. In a small space there, look on the ground to find a card called "Spare Trousers." Grab it to get the seventh clue.

7. Corpo Plaza Roundabout

You've definitely been here before—especially if you were on the hunt for Rebecca's shotgun. This time, however, the quest requires you to get to the very top of the Corpo Plaza roundabout, right at the center where the two holographic koi fish are projected.

Climb to the top of the roundabout, and alongside some virtual poker chips, you'll find a card called "Holo." Pick it up to receive the eighth location clue.

8. Giant Statue on Jig-Jig Street

This area is another spot that should be intimately familiar to any resident of Night City. The eighth location is the giant statue on Jig-Jig Street.

Fast travel to "Jig-Jig Street" and head toward the massive statue. Since the clue photo is a close-up of a foot, search near the statue's base to find the Joker symbol on its right foot. On the ground nearby, you'll find a card called "Sixth Sense," which will point you to the ninth location.

9. Strip Club on Jig-Jig Street

Staying on Jig-Jig Street, after finding the eighth location, head to a nearby strip club to find the ninth Joker symbol.

This spot is inside the first shop on your left as you enter Jig-Jig Street. From the clue image in your texts, you can see the Joker symbol is on a wall with a "24H" sign. Follow this clue, and you'll find the "Lusty Joker" card on the counter. Pick it up to unlock the final clue.

10. Restaurant in Japantown's Sakura Market

The final location is just a short ride from Jig-Jig Street in Sakura Market.

Here, you're looking for a specific restaurant—a location that was formerly the Rainbow Cadenza nightclub, which you may remember from the "I Can See Clearly Now" side job.

This one is a bit hidden. The Joker symbol isn't near the flamingo statue. Players need to head to the right of the counter, where you'll see the symbol printed near a dining booth against the wall. Open the nearby door, and you'll find the "Ramen" card on a cabinet, completing your treasure hunt.

Gimble will then message you, declaring you the "2077 Joker Hunter Champion" and awarding you the new apartment decorations from the crossover. Additionally, before you leave, remember to pick up the gift left for you inside the Sakura Market restaurant—a commemorative white T-shirt featuring the Joker symbol.
