'Marvel's Venom' Spinoff Still Possible After 'Spider-Man 2,' Analysts Suggest

Whether Insomniac Games will release a "Marvel's Venom" title as a spinoff to its acclaimed "Marvel's Spider-Man" series remains a hot topic among fans. Despite the release of concept art for the symbiote featured in "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" and documents from the massive 2024 data breach confirming the studio's interest in the project, official news has yet to surface.

Of course, "Marvel's Venom" isn't the only project in limbo. "Marvel's Wolverine," another highly anticipated title announced back in 2021, has also seen no new updates for years. While it's possible Insomniac Games has chosen to remain silent to allow the team to focus on development and bolster security in the wake of the hack, the major leak has left many wondering about the studio's roadmap for 2025.

According to a report from Comicbook.com, while there's reason to be skeptical about whether "Marvel's Venom" will ever see the light of day, the project likely remains part of Insomniac's plans. The outlet suggests it could still launch on the PlayStation 5 sometime in 2025, mirroring the studio's 2020 release of the smaller-scale "Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales," which arrived relatively quickly.

If this speculation holds true, fans could potentially hear news about "Marvel's Venom" in the coming months, with an ideal release window in late summer or fall 2025. Of course, this is all theoretical analysis from Comicbook.com, and the final word will have to come directly from Insomniac Games.

The previously leaked documents also revealed other projects on Insomniac's slate, including an unannounced "Marvel's X-Men" title and a new "Ratchet & Clank" game, alongside the confirmed "Marvel's Spider-Man 3." However, to date, no further information has been released for any of the aforementioned titles.
