"I Thought My Husband Bought the Same Toy Again..." Wife Stunned to Discover He Invented His Latest Rubik's Cube

If you're the kind of collector who buys multiples of everything, you've probably heard this one before from your family: "Why do you need to buy two of the same thing?" Of course, the answer is love for the item—one to play with and one to keep pristine in its box. A third or fourth? Those are just spares, obviously.

This was a familiar scene for X (formerly Twitter) user Kyana-bird (@Kya7y), whose husband is a massive Rubik's Cube enthusiast with a collection of about 100 cubes. One day, another new cube appeared in her husband's hands, and she figured he had just bought another one that looked pretty much like all the others.

But upon closer inspection, she noticed something different. Next to the "Designed by" text on the packaging was the name of her own husband, Kanahii (@kanahii405). She shared the story of this very special cube on X, where it quickly sparked a viral conversation.

So, what makes this cube so different? The sample that arrived at Kanahii's home is officially named the "tribox Calendar." It's a white 7x7x7 cube with numbers and English letters printed on each individual square.

In other words, it's a "perpetual calendar Rubik's Cube" that can display the year, month, and day. By applying cube algorithms, you can create a calendar for any date, making it a puzzle that's not only fun but also practical.

While the initial design was by Kanahii, it was further refined and perfected by Ueshuu (@uesyuu_cube), Japan's record holder for solving a Rubik's Cube in the fewest moves.

Kyana-bird, who was initially a bit exasperated by the arrival of yet another cube, had a complete change of heart after learning the truth. "The idea of 'I wish a product like this existed' became a reality and was delivered to our home... Isn't this a dream come true for a geek?" she posted.

Amusingly, while her husband Kanahii was away on a business trip, Kyana-bird started playing with the "tribox Calendar" herself. She began creating all sorts of bizarre and hilarious calendar dates that don't exist in the real world.
