Steve Jobs Figure Pops Up in Japanese Secondhand Store, 40,000 Yen Price Tag Sparks Online Frenzy

Back in May 2024, an unexpected item hit the shelves at Hard Off Yonezawa, a secondhand store in Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. It was a 1/6 scale figure of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. The news quickly went viral online after X (formerly Twitter) user doriramii_ (@doriramii_) posted about their discovery.

Doriramii_'s post captured their surprise upon finding the figure, exclaiming, "Mr. Jobs?!???!!??!!" and included a photo of the figure sitting on a sofa. The incredible realism of the figure led many netizens to initially mistake it for the real Steve Jobs. Priced at 44,000 yen, the item's tag humorously noted "Used item" and "Apple accessory missing," adding to its viral appeal.

The lifelike figure not only caught the eye of secondhand shoppers but also ignited a heated discussion among netizens. The comment section was flooded with creative and humorous reactions, including "Couldn't help but laugh," "I'd love to put this in my entryway," "You kinda want this too, don't you?", and "I'm more curious about where this came from." Some users even speculated about its origins, suggesting it might have been a prized possession from a collector that eventually found its way into the secondhand market.

Doriramii_ told Netorabo that their immediate thought was, "This is too interesting, I almost wanted to take it home." However, due to the high price, they ultimately decided to just take photos as a memento. They admitted that the figure's details were incredibly precise, with even subtle facial expressions and postures mirroring Steve Jobs himself, which was truly astonishing.
