According to news reports, the incident occurred around 10:30 AM on December 30 last year. Yoshizawa allegedly entered a resident's apartment next door to his own without permission. The resident discovered him and immediately reported it to the police.
It is understood that Yoshizawa had been drinking with friends the night before and was still heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident. During the police investigation, Yoshizawa stated, "I blacked out. I think I accidentally entered the wrong room because I needed to use the restroom."
The news has caused a stir among netizens, as Yoshizawa has maintained a generally positive public image. Fans expressed dismay that he would get so drunk as to trespass into someone's home, lamenting that alcohol clearly led to poor judgment, even into the late morning hours.
Police are currently conducting a voluntary investigation on suspicion of trespassing and plan to refer the case to prosecutors once all details are confirmed.
