Fans of Q Hayashida's cult-favorite manga, "Dorohedoro" (ドロヘドロ), have been on a wild ride! After its initial TV anime adaptation in 2020, a sequel was teased early last year, sending the fandom into a frenzy.
Now, a year later, the wait is finally over! On January 12, the official announcement dropped: the "Dorohedoro" anime sequel is officially set to premiere sometime in 2025, marking a triumphant return after a five-year hiatus.

"Dorohedoro" (ドロヘドロ) plunges viewers into a gritty world split between "The Hole," where ordinary humans reside, and the realm of sorcerers. These magic-users, created by the devil Chidaruma, possess an organ that produces "smoke"—the source of their magical power.
The story follows Caiman, a victim of magic whose head was transformed into that of a lizard. To reclaim his lost memories, he embarks on a relentless quest to hunt down sorcerers, accompanied by his trusty companion, Nikaido.

It's hard to believe it's been five years since the first anime season aired (January 2020). Despite the manga concluding way back in 2018, MAPPA's anime adaptation earned widespread praise from original fans, making the anticipation for this sequel absolutely palpable.
While we only have a 2025 release window for now, the official channels have promised more details will be dropping soon. Keep those eyes peeled for further updates!
