From Shimakaze in "Kantai Collection" to Alisa Ayase in "Love Live!" and Yotsuba Nakano in "The Quintessential Quintuplets," popular voice actress Ayane Sakura has been a fan favorite since her debut. Beyond her incredible voice acting chops, her charming and elegant looks have also captured the hearts of many.
This season, Sakura-san stars as the protagonist in the anime adaptation of the novel, "Dr. Amao's Clinical Records of Deduction." To promote the show, Aniplex's official channel launched a special campaign: "Daily Ayane Sakura ~100 Days to Become Genius Amao Hisao~." But things took an unexpected turn yesterday (February 11th) when they dropped Ayane Sakura's "sleep audio," sending fans into a frenzy!
The anime "Dr. Amao's Clinical Records of Deduction" is based on Mikito Chinen's "Amao Hisao Series" novels. It follows the titular protagonist, Amao Hisao, a 27-year-old Vice Director and Head of General Diagnosis at Tenikai General Hospital. Despite her impressive title, her petite stature and baby face often lead people to mistake her for a middle schooler.
As someone with Asperger's and savant syndrome, Amao possesses superhuman memory, calculation abilities, and intellect, which she uses to crack "difficult to diagnose" cases and unravel mysterious patient referrals.
The "Daily Ayane Sakura ~100 Days to Become Genius Amao Hisao~" project features Sakura-san sharing various tidbits each day, from casual chats and recording experiences to conversations with other voice actors.
However, Day 60's upload yesterday was an audio file titled "Ayane Sakura Sleep Project." The video description read: "This time, we bring you Ayane Sakura's Sleep Project! This is an audio file personally recorded by Ayane Sakura, containing only her sleeping for 8 hours and 49 minutes, edited down to approximately 30 minutes. This episode is a test of your imagination. After the audio file ends, there's also a message from Ayane Sakura!"
The audio mostly consists of ambient sounds, cat meows, and faint snoring – almost like an ASMR track! This super soothing, yet hilarious, content had fans raving: "I desperately want to hear the full version!", "The editor is a genius!", and "Ayane Sakura listening to this before bed is just too cute!"
It just goes to show how incredibly popular Ayane Sakura is! Opportunities to hear a voice actor's private life sounds like this don't come around often, do they? XD Meanwhile, "Dr. Amao's Clinical Records of Deduction" has already aired 6 episodes, so if you're curious, definitely go check it out!
