"Kinnikuman Maneki-Neko" Edo Kimekomi Dolls Made with Centuries-Old Traditional Craftsmanship and Historic Bingo-Gasuri Fabric!

It's been 45 years since its debut, and Kinnikuman's thrilling and hilarious storylines are still captivating audiences! The new "Perfect Origin Arc" anime series, celebrating the franchise's 40th anniversary, is currently airing and keeping the hype alive.

Recently, the franchise announced an epic collaboration with renowned Japanese craft brand HIKIDASHI to create a brand-new "Kinnikuman Kimekomi Doll" in the style of a Maneki-Neko (lucky cat). These "Edo Kimekomi Dolls" specifically utilize "Bingo-Gasuri" fabric, one of Japan's three great Kasuri textiles. Two fabric versions will be available for pre-order starting February 14, 2025, at the official Kinnikuman online store and the HIKIDASHI Store online.

"Edo Kimekomi Dolls" are a traditional Japanese craft, founded by Chushige Takahashi of Kyoto's Kamigamo Shrine, boasting over 280 years of history. This collaboration draws inspiration from Kinnikuman striking a Maneki-Neko pose. Each doll is meticulously crafted with "Bingo-Gasuri" fabric, one of Japan's three great Kasuri textiles, showcasing a unique and delicate texture.

"Bingo-Gasuri" originated in the late Edo period in Japan, first developed as a Kasuri weave in Ashida-cho, Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It stands alongside "Iyo-Gasuri" and "Kurume-Gasuri" as one of Japan's three great Kasuri textiles, and was recognized as a "Hiroshima Prefectural Designated Traditional Craft" in 1992, holding immense historical value.

This special edition doll comes in two versions: "Traditional Pattern Ver." and "Retro Style Ver." The design brilliantly merges Kinnikuman with the Maneki-Neko, creating a surprisingly harmonious and amusing look with his classic pose and face. The coin in his right hand reads "Friendship," not only bringing good fortune but also safeguarding your bonds, hoping you'll make as many great friends as Kinnikuman himself!

▼ Traditional Pattern Ver. Price: 36,300 JPY

The Traditional Pattern version features three distinct traditional patterns, exuding a rich Japanese cultural aesthetic.

▼ Retro Style Ver. Price: 38,500 JPY

The Retro Style version utilizes vintage "Bingo-Gasuri" fabric, aged gracefully over time, to deliver a classic, nostalgic vibe.

Each doll also comes with an exclusive display stand, with a base inspired by the "Four-Corner Ring" and emblazoned with the "KIN" logo, perfectly echoing Kinnikuman's iconic image. Plus, it's housed in a premium, custom-made Paulownia wood box, featuring a gold foil "KIN" logo on the exterior for an extra touch of luxury, making this collectible even more valuable!
