Japanese brand PREMICO (プレミコ) is renowned for blending high-quality timepieces and premium goods with beloved anime and manga franchises, consistently dropping stunning designs that capture fans' hearts (and wallets!).
Now, they're teaming up with the hit anime "The Apothecary Diaries," currently airing its second season, to launch exquisite long wallets crafted with Kyoto's centuries-old "Nishijin-ori" textile art. Fans can choose from two distinct designs, each priced at 25,080 JPY, and available for pre-order now on PREMICO's official website.
"Nishijin-ori" boasts a rich history dating back to the 5th century, originally developed for the imperial court. This sophisticated weaving technique employs multiple intricate methods and beautifully dyed threads, resulting in exceptional craftsmanship. It earned its name during the Muromachi period when artisans who fled to the Western Army's camp during the Ōnin War continued their weaving there. Today, it's recognized as a traditional Japanese craft and a symbol of luxury textiles.
These new wallets draw inspiration from the two main characters, Maomao and Jinshi, channeling their attire and character designs into exclusive, bespoke patterns. Both the front and back luxuriously feature Nishijin-ori silk jacquard fabric, a designated national traditional craft. The wallets boast a unique, delicate sheen and a silky-smooth touch, showcasing the masterful artistry of Nishijin-ori – perfect for both collecting and daily use.
