Friends who enjoy Gunpla model kits have surely experimented with various techniques, such as painting, cutting, or weathering, all of which are methods to make their models more distinctive and can even integrate other elements to create new innovations.
Today, we're introducing a Japanese X user, Shun (@shun_m47), who recently shared a modified creation based on Bandai's Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack HG Sazabi model kit. The exquisite results and nearly perfect appearance, coupled with the hashtag 'これがこうなる選手権' (This is how it becomes this championship), garnered significant attention and praise from numerous netizens.
(Note: 'これがこうなる選手権' is a hashtag specifically for collecting works with 'drastically different before-and-after modifications').

This X user, Shun, is no ordinary Gunpla builder. He was the champion of the 2013 Gunpla Builders World Cup (GBWC). His winning entry that year was the protagonist mobile suit from Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, the ν Gundam, making him a true top-tier modeler!

However, this time he turned his attention to the ν Gundam's rival mobile suit, the Sazabi. This Sazabi, originally just an HG (High Grade) version, has been completely elevated into a work of another dimension through his skillful modifications.
While the overall silhouette of the original HG base kit's parts remains unchanged, he enhanced details through panel lining, added armor to modify the exterior, giving the mobile suit a more mechanical feel. The shield emblem, originally only achievable with stickers, was directly crafted into a three-dimensional structure using plastic sheets. Even details like the rear thrusters (vernier) were redesigned into a completely new form, showcasing astonishing craftsmanship!
