Can't Snag a Life-Sized Gardevoir? This Hilarious Substitute Has the Internet Cracking Up: "It's Practically the Same Thing..."

A recent post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by a user who couldn't get their hands on a "life-sized Gardevoir" and opted for a hilarious alternative has gone absolutely viral! The tweet racked up over 2 million views and approximately 87,000 likes in no time, becoming a hot topic of discussion.

The user, Sukoburu 6-kumi (@faker1081), shared in their tweet that the "life-sized Gardevoir" was in such high demand that they couldn't snag one.

So, what's a fan to do? They decided to place a giant frog plushie in their room as a stand-in for Gardevoir. This particular frog plush sports a yellow-green and white color scheme, with a touch of pink inside its mouth. Take a closer look, and you might just see a striking resemblance to Gardevoir, which, of course, sparked a wave of hilarious reactions from netizens.

The "life-sized Gardevoir," standing at 160 cm tall and priced at 49,500 yen, first went on sale at the Pokémon Center on February 6, 2025. Its immense popularity led to a fierce scramble to get one. Many fans shared their purchase experiences on social media after the release, but due to insufficient supply, countless others, like Sukoburu 6-kumi, frustratingly came up empty-handed.

The internet's reaction to this substitute frog plushie has been nothing short of enthusiastic. Comments poured in, with users exclaiming, "Too cute, I want one!" and "That frog's melancholic vibe is just too funny!" Some even joked, "Honestly, I might want to cuddle with this one to sleep." Plus, many agreed that the frog plush, with its colors and posture, was indeed similar to Gardevoir, declaring it "essentially the same thing."

The frog plush in question is named "Otoboke Keropyon," produced by Amuse Inc. The company's official X account even chimed in, responding to the post to thank the user for their love for Otoboke Keropyon and wishing them happy days filled with their new froggy friend.
