Hold up, Trainers! While everyone's been hyped for the year-long wait for the massive Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A, today's "Pokémon Presents" — celebrating the franchise's 29th anniversary — dropped a surprise bombshell: a brand-new title specifically for hardcore Pokémon battle players, Pokémon Champions!

Details are still pretty scarce, but the announcement trailer gives us a peek into what's coming. Pokémon Champions is all about intense Pokémon battles, letting you bring your favorite 'mons from the Gen 9 hits, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, directly into the fray. And get this: even your Pokémon from the mobile sensation Pokémon GO can join the party!
Naturally, the essential Pokémon storage service, Pokémon HOME, will fully support Pokémon Champions. This means you can transfer your carefully curated teams from Pokémon HOME straight into the game to challenge Trainers worldwide. Just a heads-up, though: the usual rules apply. While you can send Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon Champions, you won't be able to send them back to Pokémon GO.

While we're still waiting for official word on a release date and more in-depth info, the trailer definitely confirmed one epic showdown: Terastallization battling Mega Evolution! Plus, the game isn't just coming to the entire Nintendo Switch family; it's also hitting smartphones, launching on both iOS and Android. This means that in addition to current Nintendo Switch consoles, it's highly likely to land on the next-gen Nintendo Switch 2 as well!
