"Monster Hunter Wilds" Hit by Game-Breaking Bug? Capcom Rushes to Fix Performance Woes

"Monster Hunter Wilds" has been the talk of the town among global gamers since its launch, but PC players have been less thrilled. Persistent performance issues have plagued the highly anticipated title, leading to a "Mixed" rating on Steam.

While Capcom has vowed to swiftly patch up the PC version of "Monster Hunter Wilds" and even offered some basic troubleshooting tips via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, a far more critical bug has recently surfaced. This nasty glitch could potentially halt main story progression dead in its tracks!

Players are reporting that in certain scenarios, crucial NPCs are failing to spawn where they should, effectively soft-locking the main questline and preventing further exploration. From what we know, this issue crops up in Main Story Chapter 5-2. Good news for those who've already blasted past Chapter 5-3, though – you're in the clear!

Capcom officially acknowledged this game-breaking bug on social media, stating: "Hunters, we are currently investigating a bug in Main Quest 'Chapter 5-2: A World Turned Upside Down' where NPCs may not appear, preventing main story progression. We are actively working on it and will provide an update as soon as we have more information."

While Capcom hasn't pinpointed the exact cause just yet, they've confirmed they're actively investigating and seeking a fix. Interestingly, Capcom rolled out an update Saturday evening, leading some players to suspect a connection to the new bug. However, the company has yet to confirm if the update is indeed the culprit.
